A new culinary hub is landing on Chelsea’s most famous boulevard, pairing a refined grocery hall with destination dining.

Arthur’s Market opens this autumn on King’s Road, bringing a polished take on the classic food hall to West London. Created by the team behind The Prince Arthur Pub in Belgravia, the concept blends everyday essentials with speciality counters and two intimate restaurants.

By day, the market caters to quick stops and considered shops. Guests can grab takeaway coffee, sandwiches and salads, then browse shelves lined with seasonal fruit and vegetables, artisanal cheeses and rare Japanese pantry items. The selection leans luxurious, with premium caviar and a thoughtful wine selection available alongside cupboard staples.

At the heart of the space sits a fantastic fish counter. Expect Cornish day-boat classics alongside whole Spanish tuna, vivid carabineros and fresh sea urchin. The display is designed to entice home cooks and restaurant-goers alike, with fish cut to order and a team on hand to advise on preparation.

Two distinct dining rooms add after-hours allure. ASA Izakaya is a 12-seat sushi and hand roll bar that expands to a 30-cover restaurant in the evening. The energy is fast and focused, with pristine fish sourced directly from the market’s own monger. High-grade nigiri will feature the likes of scallop, langoustine and squid kasudzuke, paired with an extensive selection of caviar and roe, plus a list of premium sakes. The kitchen is led by Chef Shaulan Steenson, whose resume includes Endo in London and Hakkoku in Japan.

Next door, Salvador offers a wood-fired pintxos experience inspired by the Basque Country. Diners can pull up at the counter for small plates built around market produce from the butcher and fishmonger. Signatures will include beef tartare with barrel-aged soy, bone marrow and confit egg yolk, as well as pork presa with ‘nduja bean stew. Rotating specials, such as A5 wagyu, keep the menu evolving with the seasons.

Arthur’s Market feels tailored to local life, part grocer, part counter culture, and part neighbourhood restaurant, all under one roof.
