Corenucopia by Clare Smyth will open in Chelsea this November.

Trailblazing chef Clare Smyth is set to expand her London footprint with Corenucopia, a luxury bistro slated to open in November at Chelsea Barracks on Holbein Place. Already at the helm of the three Michelin-starred Core by Clare Smyth, the chef’s latest project is poised to attract devoted diners interested in classic British cooking with modern polish.

Corenucopia is situated in a Grade II listed Victorian building that dates back to 1889. The space spans 2,200 square feet across two floors, offering generous room for a lively ground level and a more intimate upper level. The site most recently housed Tabsica, an Italian steakhouse that closed earlier this year, and now turns the page to a new chapter rooted in British culinary heritage.

The menu will champion traditional British dishes with subtle French influence, reflecting Smyth’s training and instincts. Expect recognisable flavours, refined techniques, and an emphasis on quality produce. Early hints suggest a relaxed dining room that favours comfort and warmth. Details will matter, from thoughtful lighting to ornate crockery that frames each plate. The goal is to create a neighbourhood bistro that feels elevated yet welcoming, a place you can visit midweek or save for a special occasion.

The name Corenucopia plays on the word cornucopia and nods to the chef’s flagship. The added “e” links the new opening to Core, signalling abundance, generosity, and a kitchen that celebrates the best of the season. Staffing is already underway across the kitchen, front of house, and support teams, with an eye on assembling a dedicated group ready to open doors this autumn.

Smyth’s pedigree needs little introduction. Originally from Northern Ireland, she spent 13 years working with Gordon Ramsay, becoming chef patron at the three Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay before launching Core by Clare Smyth in 2017. Her first international outpost, Oncore by Clare Smyth, followed in Sydney in 2021. Announcing the news on social media, Claire Smyth said: “Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce the opening of Corenucopia by Clare Smyth, our brand-new luxury bistro in Chelsea, launching in November 2025.”

With a storied building and one of the UK’s most decorated chefs at the helm, Corenucopia by Clare Smyth looks set to be one of the year’s most anticipated restaurant openings.
