London is home to beautiful buildings which have been reimagined over the years. Now, a former bank is set to transform into a restaurant. In September 2025, Aki London will open in Cavendish Square, Oxford Circus.
The Aki brand can already be found in Valetta, Malta. Aki London marks the brand’s debut in the United Kingdom and its first international expansion. The venue has undergone a £15 million refurbishment and is located in a Grade II listed building. The dining room will be located in the main banking hall, and the cocktail bar will be located in the banking vault.
Aki London’s full menu has not yet been unveiled, but will draw inspiration from the original restaurant. The menu spans sushi, robata and Kushiyaki dishes and robata-grilled dishes. Robata and large dishes are superb for sharing, and include a range of options. Dishes include Hoi Cha Octopus and Spring Onion Kushiyaki, and Shitake Mushroom, Shisho and Spring Onion Kushiyaki.
Small plates include Binchotan Padron Peppers, Pork and Chive Gyoza, and Shiro Miso Soup. Hirata buns include Binchotan Grilled Chicken Tacos, Kara Age Soft Shell Crab Hirata Bun, and Miso Beef Katsu Hiarata Bun. Tempura includes Kara Age of Chicken, Omakase Vegetable Tempura, and Sakura Blossom Noboshi Prawn Tempura.
The drinks menu at Aki London spans cocktails, sake and wines. The drinks pay homage to Japan and will be served inside the bank's vault. The beautiful beverages include izakaya cocktails as well as signature cocktails. The cocktails range from the Donabe Negroni to the Mahoutsukai Iced Tea. Plus, they come with playful names including Geisha, Sakura, and Umami.
