16 Charles Street will include a French brasserie.

The French hospitality company Loulou Groupe has announced that it is expanding to the United Kingdom. The group will be bringing its private members’ club, Loulou Paris, from Paris to London. Located at 16 Charles Street in Mayfair, it is scheduled to open in autumn 2026.

Spanning 25,000 square feet, the Grade II-listed building was once home to Margaret Greville. The setting hosted many of the socialite’s parties, making it a fitting location for Loulou Paris. Drawing inspiration from both Greville and Loulou de la Falaise, the club aims to blend French flair with London sophistication. Plus, Fashion designer Loulou de la Falaise inspired the group’s name.

Loulou Groupe was founded in 2016 by siblings Gilles and Claire Malafosse. Gilles is the restaurateur, while Claire serves as the artistic director. Their portfolio includes Loulou Paris at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Loulou Pirate in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, and the Loulou boat, which will open next year.

Spread across five floors, the London space will include salons, bars and restaurants. Chef Benoît Dargère will lead the kitchen. The ground floor will feature a French brasserie, open to both the public and members.

Claire Malafosse, cofounder and artistic director of Loulou Groupe, said: “When we walked into 16 Charles Street, everything aligned. We hadn’t planned to expand, but sometimes life presents the perfect building and the perfect moment. Voilà — this is it.”
