Wands at the ready – the Harry Potter Christmas tree is located on Platform 9¾.

London has a long tradition of creative Christmas trees, from the long-standing one in Trafalgar Square to the ever-changing displays in department stores. Now, a Harry Potter Christmas tree has been unveiled at King’s Cross.

Located at King’s Cross station, the Harry Potter Christmas tree is an impressive sight. Positioned near the fictional Platform 9¾, it stands 31 feet tall and is adorned with 800 scarlet and gold baubles. It is also topped with an owl perched proudly at its summit.

At the base of the tree is a recreation of well-known wizarding shops. While you cannot step inside these recreations, they provide plenty of photo opportunities. Look out for Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, complete with detailed façades, as well as Gladrags Wizardwear, Ollivander’s wand shop, Tomes and Scrolls bookshop and the Owl Post.

Plus, there’s the King’s Cross Harry Potter shop nearby, where you can browse a wide range of merchandise.

If you’re looking to complete your Harry Potter experience, make sure you head to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. The site showcases costumes, props, sets, and behind-the-scenes secrets. For the festive period, Hogwarts in the Snow has launched and runs until 18 January.
