Skepta has unveiled his latest collection for the fashion brand MAINS. Drawing inspiration from the cult TV show Eurotrash, the MAINS Eurotrash collection combines clothes and cheek. If you'd like to get your hands on the collection, here's what you need to know.
Skepta hails from Tottenham, London. He was originally part of the grime group Meridian Crew before joining the record label Boy Better Know. In 2008, he released his debut single, "Rolex Sweep." His albums include Doin' It Again, Ignorance Is Bliss and Konnichiwa. Over his career, he has won BET Awards, the Mercury Prize and MOBO Awards, and has been nominated for BRIT Awards, NME Awards and Q Awards.
MAINS London was first established in 2017. At its launch, the brand released a photo of Skepta and model Naomi Campbell in MAINS underwear. The images appeared on the front cover of British GQ and sparked dating rumours between the two. The brand gained worldwide attention and became available in Selfridges.
Now, Skepta has collaborated with head designer Mikey Pearce on the Eurotrash collection. The silhouettes offer a mix of streetwear, fitness and function. Skepta explained: "This year, we go deeper into my mind and deeper into Pandora's box."
At the London Fashion Week runway show, Central Cee and Maya Jama were in the front row and watching the action. The MAINS Eurotrash line includes classic bombers, leather trench coats, shirts, shorts and trousers. The collection also features bold prints of clouds on tops and Freddy Krueger-inspired stripes on jumpers. Highlights include Ribena and Wagon Wheel-inspired printed leather jackets.
