The collaboration sees him as the newest face of their eyewear division.

American artist and rapper Kendrick Lamar leads Chanel’s SS25 eyewear campaign, marking his first collaboration with the house, following news that he has signed on as the brand's newest ambassador.

Chanel’s Spring-Summer 2025 eyewear collection is centred around the symbolic codes of the House. The sunglasses in the collaboration are adorned with delicate crystal beads, glass pearls, calfskin and Chanel’s famous logo on the sides. Both minimalist and elaborate, the campaign is spearheaded by Kendrick and includes actresses and Chanel ambassadors Lupita Nyong’o, Margaret Qualley and Nana Komatsu.

On being the face of Chanel’s eyewear campaign, Kendrick Lamar said, “Chanel has a timeless legacy and that is always something I can get behind. Since they don’t make clothes for men, I knew it would have to be glasses.”

Bruno Pavlovsky, Chanel fashion president said: “We strongly believe in eyewear and its potential. More than a simple fashion accessory, eyewear is part of the Chanel allure and is regularly seen on the runway. Its versatile style, playing with the house codes, brings a finishing touch to the silhouette. Through the ‘Chanel & moi’ program, we developed various services for this category, in order to offer a perfect fit and the best experience to our clients.”

Kendrick’s relationship with fashion house Chanel started in 2023, when he attended the Met Gala wearing a custom look by then-creative director of Chanel, Virginie Viard.

The multi-Grammy award-winning artist stole the spotlight last year with his diss-track Not Like Us, performing the song at the Super Bowl and projecting his career even further. Hailing from Compton, USA, the rapper has now won 22 Grammys and is the first and only rapper to win a Pulitzer Prize, which was for his 2017 album DAMN. His debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city, released in 2012 officially put him on the map, cementing his reputation as a world-class artist.

Kendrick recently performed at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event took place at Caesars Superdrome, and included tennis superstar Serena Williams dancing, a protestor waving a Palestinian and Sudanese flag, and the words Gaza and Sudan written on the flags. The set list included Bodies, Squabble Up, Humble, DNA, Euphoria, Man at the Garden, Peekaboo, Luther, All The Stars, Not Like Us and TV Off.

Kendrick’s debut eyewear campaign is photographed and directed by Karim Sadli, and the collection is now available in stores.
