The renovation will include new pop-ups, window displays and more.

The department store Harvey Nichols is undergoing a major refurbishment. Located in Knightsbridge, London, it is home to luxury beauty, fashion, homeware, and jewellery brands. The sprawling retail space will be redesigned, with the first phase expected to be completed by September.

Harvey Nichols first opened in 1831. Founded by Benjamin Harvey, it was orignally a linen shop in a small terraced house in Knightsbridge. The store gradually expanded its offerings from linens to include silks, fashion, and luxury goods. By the late 19th century, it had established itself as one of London’s most prestigious department stores. Today, Harvey Nichols has grown into a globally recognised brand, with locations in cities such as Bristol, Dublin, Dubai, and Hong Kong.

The refurbishment project has begun with the ground floor. The new look will showcase a curated jewellery collection selected by expert buyers. The space will also include premium lifestyle and homeware products. Expect items ranging from specially sculpted vases to handmade candles and collectible design pieces.

Designers are reimagining the interiors with bold, primary colours. They're reopening previously blocked windows to let natural light flood the shop floor. They'll also introduce a new corner-window display to showcase pop-ups and seasonal collections.

Harvey Nichols’ CEO, Julia Goddard, commented: “Unveiling the first phase in the substantial redevelopment of our Knightsbridge flagship marks an exciting chapter in the evolution of our brand. The ground floor will house a global destination for designer and fine jewellery, featuring a curated mix of established and emerging makers alongside exceptional lifestyle and design pieces.”
