The Akram Abdulfattah show blends Middle Eastern and Indian sounds.

Palestinian-American violinist Akram Abdulfattah is performing at Grand Junction in London on 16 July for one night only. The esteemed musician will bring his masterful ability to fuse multiple genres to West London.

Influenced by Hindu, Persian, and Turkish styles, his sound reflects the rich history and culture of Asia, while adding a modern twist to traditional music. Combined with Western folk and rock influences, Abdulfattah ensures it will be a performance to remember.

His multinational five-piece group are well-experienced in creating a mesmerising live experience, having toured the United Kingdom for several years and gaining fans wherever they go. Their latest album, Abu Kenda, has been well received, earning excellent reviews. It is their first release since their 2022 EP From Here, and is a genre-bending concept album.

Abdulfattah says the album “explores the concept of birth in both its literal and figurative senses… amidst the backdrop of war’s devastation and loss.”

Songlines magazine wrote of the album: “Fusion music can often get muddled, struggling to form an identity amongst different styles, but that's certainly not the case with Abu Kenda. These nine instrumental tracks display a high level of technical proficiency, from Abdulfattah on violin, as well as the many guest musicians."

The Abu Kenda 2025 tour has so far taken Abdulfattah to Palestine (selling out in Haifa) and Sweden, and will continue to London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and various music festivals.

Presented by Arts Canteen and Grand Junction, the Akram Abdulfattah concert promises to be an unforgettable night.
