Pokémon leans into live music for its milestone anniversary.

Pokémon is heading into festival territory. As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, the brand is bringing Pokémon Night Out to The O2 in London on 10 November 2026, marking a rare large-scale live music moment for one of the world’s most recognisable entertainment franchises. The show will be headlined by Marshmello, with Alison Wonderland joining the bill as supporting act.

Marshmello is one of electronic music’s biggest crossover stars, a masked American DJ and producer whose festival-ready sound has produced global favourites including “Happier” with Bastille, “Wolves” with Selena Gomez, “Silence” with Khalid, “Friends” with Anne-Marie and “Alone.” Alison Wonderland, meanwhile, is the Australian DJ, producer and singer-songwriter known for bringing a darker, more emotional edge to dance music, with standout releases including “I Want U,” “U Don’t Know,” “Run,” and “Church.”

The event marks the first time in the brand’s history that Pokémon has entered the global EDM space with a dedicated live show featuring custom sets and exclusive visuals. It also forms part of the company’s official “What’s Your Favorite?” campaign, which celebrates 30 years of Pokémon and has already featured high-profile names including Lady Gaga and Trevor Noah.

For London fans, the event feels like a natural extension of a wider Pokémon takeover across the capital. The city has already seen the launch of Pokopia Gardens in Acton, running from 31 March to 30 September 2026, while the Pokémon x Natural History Museum pop-up shop has added another layer to the city's anniversary activities.

The concert will also be one of only two Pokémon Night Out dates currently announced, alongside a Los Angeles edition at Intuit Dome on 24 October 2026.

The Pokémon legacy

First launched in Japan in 1996 with the original Game Boy games, Pokémon quickly grew far beyond video games into a vast pop culture universe spanning the Trading Card Game, animated series, films, merchandise and live experiences. Its rise into a global phenomenon came from the strength of a simple idea, catching, collecting and battling creatures, combined with characters that became instantly recognisable across generations, most notably Pikachu. That reach has only widened over time: The Pokémon Company now describes it as one of the world’s most popular children’s entertainment properties, while the Trading Card Game alone has been sold in 14 languages and played in 89 countries or regions.
