Harry Styles' Meltdown takes place at the Southbank Centre.

The Southbank Centre has announced that Harry Styles will curate the 31st edition of Meltdown. The world’s longest-running artist-curated music festival forms part of the venue’s 75th anniversary celebrations. Running from 11 to 21 June, the festival will bring together music, dance and creative communities.

Each year, the Southbank Centre invites an iconic artist to curate their own edition of Meltdown. The result is a programme that reflects their personal tastes and creative influences across its stages. Previous curators have included George Benjamin, David Bowie, MIA, and Yoko Ono.

Harry rose to fame as a member of One Direction before establishing himself as a solo artist. He has since won multiple Brit Awards and Grammy Awards. Now, he is turning his hand to curating his own edition of the festival, Harry Styles’s Meltdown.

Harry said: “My goal as the curator is to share the music and art that I love, and to celebrate the rich history of the venue. We both share a passionate belief that music is a vital part of life. It brings us together and the Southbank Centre has been at the heart of it, providing easy access to great music for the past 75 years.”

The full line-up for Harry Styles’s Meltdown has now been announced. His curatorship reflects his wide-ranging musical influences, spanning pop, soul, electronic and rock. The programme will also showcase voices from underground scenes and emerging British talent, alongside a headline performance from the star himself.
