Feel good – the show comes to the Adelphi Theatre.
Get up offa that thing, as we have some exciting news. The James Brown Experience is landing in London. On 7 October, the show comes to the Adelphi Theatre on the Strand, and here’s how to get hold of tickets.
The James Brown Experience celebrates the legendary soul singer, James Brown. Born in South Carolina, United States, he was nicknamed “The Hardest-Working Man in Show Business.” His sounds combined gospel, funk and rhythm and blues.
In the 1950s, James rose to prominence as the lead singer of the Famous Flames. In the 1960s, he released solo singles and made a name for himself with his powerful voice and non-stop dance moves. His hit singles include I Feel Good, Man’s World and Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag.
Now, his spirit lives on in The James Brown Experience, which combines singing and dancing in a one-off performance. The James Brown Family Foundation explained: “This production not only honours James Brown’s extraordinary musical legacy, but it also reflects his creativity, hard work and passion. We are thrilled to see this show bring his legacy and sound to new audiences”.
The James Brown Experience features the nine-piece funk orchestra, New Soul Generals. The musicians have toured with Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson and Martha Reeves. The show will include big ballads, high-octane dance numbers and sing-along classics.
Tickets are available now for The James Brown Experience in London, and start from £27.
