Tate will celebrate David Hockney's 90th birthday in 2027.
Tate has unveiled its exhibition programme for 2027, bringing together a mix of historic, modern and contemporary artists. A major highlight will be the celebration of David Hockney’s 90th birthday, which includes an installation at Tate Modern and a retrospective at Tate Britain.
The programme spans centuries and continents, featuring influential figures such as Thomas Gainsborough, Claude Monet and Edvard Munch, alongside contemporary voices including Sonia Boyce, Lynda Benglis and Chila Kumari Singh Burman. Group exhibitions will explore artistic life during the Tudor period and the tradition of ink painting across Asia. Plus, the Turner Prize will also be hosted in the West Country for the first time.
