Look out for exhibitions on Afrofuturism, fandom and food.


Somerset House has announced its upcoming programme for 2026. Following a year of celebrating its 25th anniversary with an exciting list of events, it has now announced events for the year ahead. Located on the Embankment, the venue will host a diverse range of exhibitions and experiences, showcasing cutting-edge art, culture, and music.

Abracadabra! Magical Thinking in an Unmagical World runs from 4 February to 18 April, and explores magical thinking from ancient rituals to contemporary mysticism. Serpentine Currents runs from 19 February to 26 April, and presents 3D scans of endangered sea snake specimens, inviting reflection on biodiversity and marine life.

Somerset House London 2025

The Museum of Edible Earth runs from 18 March to 26 April, and offers a sensory journey through global food traditions. Assembly runs from 25 to 28 March, and returns with new music commissions from emerging artists.

Holy Pop! Runs from 21 May to 9 August, and examines the power of fandom in pop culture. George Clinton runs from 30 June to 20 September, and explores Afrofuturism. Enclosure will run from September to November, and features new work by Somerset House Studios resident Jenkin van Zyl. 

The exhibition 9 Hours runs throughout October and celebrates 10 years of the Somerset House Studios. Plus, 9 Hours: Theatre and Engineering celebrates the 60th anniversary of avant-garde artists performing in New York City in 1966. 

Regular seasonal events also return for the Somerset House 2026 cultural season, including Somerset House Summer and Skate at Somerset House, and they offer visitors the chance to enjoy the courtyard in all seasons.
