Shakespeare’s Globe will host classic and new plays.

Theatre fans, we have some dramatic news. Shakespeare’s Globe has unveiled its Summer 2026 season, and it promises a thrilling blend of classic storytelling, bold interpretation and world-class talent.

Audiences are invited to step into a vibrant programme that celebrates the enduring power of theatre to explore what it means to live, love and connect in a rapidly changing world. Bringing together renowned artists, exciting new voices, and both much-loved and lesser-known works, the season unfolds across Shakespeare’s Globe’s two iconic theatres.

The programme begins with Romeo and Juliet, running from 5 March to 12 April. This fast-paced, 90-minute production has been created especially for young people, offering an accessible and engaging introduction to Shakespeare for audiences of all ages. From 23 April to 29 August, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Emily Lim, brings magic, mischief and romance to the open-air stage.

The season continues with Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children, which runs from 7 May to 27 June 2026. This is a powerful examination of survival and morality in wartime. Shakespeare’s sharp and witty Much Ado About Nothing runs from 11 June to 24 October 2026, followed by the rarely staged Love’s Labour’s Lost from 17 July to 13 September 2026.

Later in the summer, As You Like It runs from 14 August to 25 October 2026, and transforms the Forest of Arden into a joyous celebration of freedom, love and self-discovery. Families are also invited to enjoy A World Elsewhere, which runs from 25 July to 30 August. The show is an imaginative adventure celebrating storytelling, friendship and courage.
