The exhibition is located in The Crypt Gallery in St Pancras.
London has welcomed artists from around the world. Now, Rise, Habibi has opened at The Crypt Gallery at St Pancras. Running until 15 June, the exhibition celebrates female Arab and Muslim artists over the last 1,000 years.
Rise, Habibi has been created in partnership with Saqi Books and Shubbak. The exhibition looks at female writers over the last century. The pieces have been taken from Saqi's cult collection, Classical Poems by Arab Women, which have been translated by Abdullah al-Udhari. The poems have been shared in the original Arabic and English translations.

Rise, Habibi also includes 50 emerging artists from around the world. The artists have reimagined the ancient words through art. The mediums cover photography, paint, sculpture and textiles and offer a personal take on the poems. The themes range from motherhood to the patriarchy and offer forms of expression and resistance.
The quotes include: "Better to live in hardship then end up as a whipping girl", and "If you were not a star I would be in the dark. Peace be upon your beauty from one who misses the thrills of your company." During the exhibition, there will also be art on sale, and the profits go directly to families in Gaza.

The artists include Ana Cayuela Munoz, Anouska Beckwith, Aula al Ayoubi, Azraa Motala, Kazna Asker, Chantey Dayal, Cherryl Brunel, Dana Barqawi, Darin Ahmad, Molly Crabapple, Nadia Faraj, Nada Rajab, Nina Gadd, Zahra Marwan, and more.
