London is set to welcome a star-studded cast in My Master Builder. The show stars Ewan McGregor, Elizabeth Debicki and Kate Fleetwood. This marks Ewan’s first theatre role in 17 years, and looks set to be a showstopper. Running from 17 April to 12 July, it is showing at the Wyndham Theatre.
My Master Builder is a play by the writer Lila Raicek, and it is inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s play of the same name. In 1892, Ibsen's play was first published, and now it has been adapted. On the evening of 4 July in the Hamptons, United States, Elena Solness is about to throw a party for her husband, Henry Solness. He is a successful architect, and his world is about to change with an unexpected guest, Mathilde.
Ewan plays Henry, Elizabeth plays Mathilde, and Kate plays Elena. Ewan was born in Scotland, United Kingdom. He rose to fame in the film Trainspotting, which was directed by Danny Boyle. On stage, he starred in Guys and Dolls and Othello. He has starred in the films Black Hawn Down, Moulin Rouge! And Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. Plus, he starred as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
Elizabeth was born in Paris, France, and was raised in Melbourne, Australia. She is best known for having starred as Princess Diana in the Netflix series, The Crown. Kate was born in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. She has appeared in a range of Broadway and West End shows, and was nominated for a Tony Award for her role as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth.
