Get ready for A Season of Arabic Culture. MARSM is celebrating 10 years and showcasing the richness of Arabic culture across London. The programme includes music, film, dance, and more, and brings together performers from across the Arab world.
A Season of Arabic Culture is hosting a series of exciting events. The musical line-up features both local and international talent. On 26 September, Songs from the Levant with Sura will take place. Sura blends influences of funk, jazz, and soul. On 24 October, El Far3i will perform an intimate acoustic set at the Holy Sepulchre Church.

Look out for a range of film screenings throughout the city. On 29 September, Foragers will be screened, showcasing a courtroom drama. The film follows Palestinians who forage for wild za’atar and akkoub, plants criminalised under Israeli nature protection laws. On 4 October, Ojalá: La Vuelta Al Origen will be screened. The documentary explores what it means to be Palestinian in Chile.
On 13 October, The Tale of Daye’s Family will be screened at the Barbican. The story follows a teenager with albinism. On 8 November, Dounia and the Princess of Aleppo tells the moving story of a six-year-old girl fleeing Aleppo.
For something more hands-on, explore a series of workshops. On 17, 24, and 31 October, Dabke Dance Classes will showcase traditional folk dances from the Levant. Food also plays a key role. On 5 October, Stories Served Warm invites you to explore food, folklore, and forgotten tales from the Bilad al-Sham region.
